The Sacredness of Every Family
3 December 2024
Monthly Theme: Divine Light
Dear Bridge Builders,
As the season of light surrounds us, we are called to reflect on the divine spark that dwells in every soul and shines through every family. December’s theme, Divine Light, invites us to illuminate the diverse beauty of family stories, especially those that challenge traditional norms and expand our understanding of love and kinship.
This month, we proudly present our social media series, 31 Days of Illuminating Family Diversity. Each day offers a glimpse into the lives, struggles, and joys of families from all walks of life—families bound by choice, culture, and love. Through these stories, we witness how the divine light manifests uniquely in every family.
As we share these stories, let us ask ourselves:
- How can we recognize and honor the spark of the divine in every family’s unique story, especially those whose experiences challenge traditional norms?
- What does this call us to do as a faith community to embody radical acceptance and compassion?
In a world where too many are told their families don’t belong, our faith calls us to affirm the inherent worth and dignity of all. To celebrate the sacredness of every family is to be the light that heals, welcomes, and transforms.
We encourage everyone to engage with this series—share it, reflect on it in worship, and consider how your communities can become even brighter beacons of love and inclusion. Together, we can shine a light on the beauty of diversity and inspire others to do the same.
