Denard Blackwood
Denard Blackwood comes to us with over 20 years of youth and young adult ministry experience. Growing up in South Florida, he was heavily involved in his local youth group, where he interned over the summers and throughout the year. He was in leadership roles, leading small groups, and event planning.
As he continued through his church career, he joined the Young Adult ministry at his church and was also involved in logistical church planning.
In 2015, he moved to Southern California, where he interned at A21, an organization dedicated to ending Human Trafficking, and on the weekends volunteered at the local church doing Guest Services.
In 2021, he served as the Children, Youth and Family Life Coordinator at Jefferson Unitarian Church, and in his time there he served the families of JUC from Nursery through High School.
On a Personal Note, Denard is married to Pastor Aj Blackwood and loves all things Fantasy and Marvel. In his free time, he loves the outdoors and baking sourdough baked goods.
On this new adventure with Bridges UU, Denard is excited to work with UU churches in building their RE programs, from our Little Ones through to our Young Adults, because they are the next generation of UUs.
