As we continue our journey through Love As the Center, May invites us to explore love as equity—a love that refuses to be satisfied with comfort or privilege if it comes at another’s expense. This love compels us to examine the imbalances in our lives, communities, and systems, not with guilt, but with a deep yearning for restoration and fairness. Equity is not sameness—it is compassion in action, meeting people where they are and offering what is needed to thrive.
What does it mean to structure our lives and our communities so that everyone has enough, and everyone belongs? This month, we reflect on how love calls us into the holy and hard work of redistributing power, listening deeply, and embodying justice not only in word, but in deed.
Equity is love in action. It is the practice of recognizing each person’s inherent worth and dignity, not only in word but in the systems we build, the communities we nurture, and the justice we pursue.
