Join us in Caring for Others and Ourselves

1 October 2024

Dear Congregational Leaders and Partners,

As we enter the month of October, we invite you to reflect on our theme for the month: “Love as the Center.” In this moment, we are called to center love in all that we do – in our personal lives, our ministries, and the ways we engage with our communities. Love is the force that guides us toward justice, compassion, and healing, and it is through love that we build relationships and strengthen our collective work.

In alignment with this theme, Bridges is excited to share our upcoming social media series, “31 Days of Caring for Ourselves, Caring for Others.” Throughout October, we will be highlighting resources and practices that support mental health, address addiction, prevent suicide, and uplift the often unseen labor of family caregivers. This series is designed to offer support to BIPOC, Queer, and youth communities in particular, and it provides a framework for how we can all show up for ourselves and one another in meaningful ways.

We encourage your congregation to share this series with your members and communities. These posts can be a resource for ministry teams, pastoral care circles, and individuals alike. By participating, we collectively amplify the message that love, expressed through care and compassion, is a transformative force for healing and liberation.

Thank you for all the ways you are centering love in your work and ministry. Together, we can create spaces where love truly is the foundation of all that we do.

In partnership and faith,

Pastor AJ Backwood
