Our 8 Session series is designed to have participants not only reflect personally but to also understand their how their theological understandings do or have the potential to affect the world. Understanding that doing good in the world is rooted in their person theology, known or unknown.
Community Building
The series will be an opportunity for participants to get to know each through dialogue, personal sharing, and team building exercises.
Personal Reflection
All participants will be asked to reflect on their person story, place/role in society, motivations in life, and how they personally approach their worldview against a larger multicultural, multidimensional backdrop.
New Sources Exploration
We will present new and innovative sources for reflection. Using a variety of multimedia sources, participants will have opportunities to dialogue with variety of authors most of which most of which would not be presumed to have a very deep theological foundation.
Creative Expression
Participants will be challenged to not only reflect but to express their theological conclusions in a creative way. This may include artwork, cooking, sewing, writing, meditation, dance, music or anything else the participant will imagine.
Social Engagement

This Series will be hosted online with cohorts in your local area. Would you like to host a cohort at your community or congregation or with a group of friends? Please let us know.
Our Modules
Creating Community
(Fall 2025)
Our Communities are shaped by shared practices, rituals, and stories. This module “Creating Communities” of Constructive Theology & Creative Expression invites us to reflect on what it means to belong and to co-create inclusive, compassionate communities. Through collaborative creative expression, we’ll explore how ritual, story, and symbol help us build and sustain beloved community. We will reflect on how our worldview informs our understanding of belonging, covenant, and interdependence. Through collaborative art-making, and dialogical reflection, we’ll explore how creative expression can help build and sustain resilient, inclusive communities.
The Big Words
(Fall 2026)
What do words like “God,” “grace,” “sin,” and “salvation” mean in a UU context? Do they resonate – or challenge us? In this module, we’ll unpack some of theology’s “big words” and engage them from our own experiences, doubts, and insights. Through creative interpretation – poetry, collage, or narrative – we’ll give shape to our evolving spiritual understandings in ways that honor our pluralism and depth.
We will ask the question: How do we understand the “big words” of theology if we can reclaim, and redefine them for our own spiritual understanding. Through guided reflection and artistic interpretation, we will give shape to these concepts, making abstract ideas tangible through metaphor, symbol, and creative storytelling.
Living into Love
(Fall 2027)
Love is the heart of Unitarian Universalist faith. In this module, we’ll explore how love becomes a daily spiritual practice – embodied in our relationships, choices, and acts of care. Using creative mediums like journaling, visual art, and ritual-making, we will reflect on how to live their values with authenticity, courage, and compassion in everyday life.
We will ask the question: What does love look like in everyday life? This module focuses on the embodiment of theological values in our relationships, habits, and choices. We will reflect on themes such as compassion, forgiveness, and integrity, and engage in creative practices that bring their values to life – whether through poetry, music, journaling, or ritual design.
A Passion for Justice
(Fall 2028)
Unitarian Universalist theology calls us to side with love and act for justice. In this module, we’ll explore how our deepest values – like inherent worth, equity, and interdependence – fuel our commitments to social change.
Through art, poetry, and reflective practice, we’ll creatively express our individual and communal calls to justice-making, drawing inspiration from UU history and present-day movements. We will explore how theology and creative expression can fuel movements for justice and liberation. This module invites participants to examine the moral and spiritual roots of activism through art, storytelling, and theological reflection. We’ll engage prophetic voices from Unitarian Universalism and beyond, and create visual or written pieces that express our individual and collective commitments to shaping a more just world.
